Here I thought that the US government pulled some stupid crap. Myanmar (Hereafter referred to the older, easier to remember name of Burma) is refusing to allow aid workers into the country. "Yes, we have more than 100,000 dead people, and millions more without homes, but no, you cant come help us"..... uhhhhhhhh.. what??? you have GOT to be sh**in me..... That might be one of the dumbest things I've heard this week. So the UN sits around twiddling its thumbs waiting for permission.
That cyclone is bad news for another reason. The delta it wiped out is a major rice growing center for atleast Burma, and probably a much larger area. Rice was already in short supply around the world as it was, now you tack on the loss of that area, does "oh crap" mean anything to anyone?

*wave*
Yes folks, its true, I have finally gotten around to making a blog post. Yeah, ok, dont get all excited now, the world isnt coming to an end... I think... of course if you listen to Hillary Clinton you would think it was if she wasnt elected president. Like we owe it to her. I think not. In fact I think we owe it to the American people to NOT elect her. "Oh she stood by her man" some how, it didnt seem like that was an act of love. The senate seat she holds is also well known to be used for a quick spring to running for president. Its the same tactic JFK used. "I am going to be elected president... no matter what it takes".. Vince Foster ring a bell to anyone? Oddly convienent to the Clintons when his "suicide" occurred. I'm not a big conspiracy theorist, but I'm also a skeptic of 'random coincidence' especially one that is beneficial to someone who could have influenced it as that one. English translation.... if someone has alot to benefit from an event and could have made it happen, odds are they atleast thought about it. That having been said, I'm not necessarily going to vote for Obama either. There are cracks showing in the facade of "change" and that like any politician he may fall into certain tendencies. Right now my vote is going for McCain. We've seen what he has done over the years, and as one of his contemporaries puts it "On those rare occassions that John tries to be self-serving, hes so bad at it that he falls flat on his face". And that came from someone on the otherside of "the aisle". Tomorrow is another step in seeing who McCain faces in November... atleast its good entertainment.

Its been a week
Ok, so its been a week since I last posted. Thought I would let the dust settle after my last post... yeah... *nods*....
In the category of "I couldnt make this up if I tried..." the nominees are (thanks to News of the Weird for these)
Squirrel Armor
Chinese Crickets Fans
FBI phones disconnected due to unpaid bills
These conjure 3 questions/comments... why? ... are they that bored over there?... morons....
Everything else has been rather quiet the past week, except for the Michigan primaries tomorrow. I think at some point we should go back to the media reporting just the facts, all of the facts, not just the facts that conform to their opinions/views and leave the rest to the opinion columns. But thats probably hoping beyond hope....
In gaming news, my WoW main now has his mount.. only took till level 54 to get it... makes moving around alot faster, and I seem to be recovering gold at a decent rate. Making good progress towards Outlands and 70. My wife has started to play again, and had a bit of a chat in the RP channel. Not sure if she enjoyed it or not, but has been reading up on the game lore.
Last week was Session #3 for Star Wars, which saw a player fatality. Not sure it should even count, wasnt like he had even hit the table yet. His escape pod was coming down, another player with his fingers on the ship cannons asked who the president of the new republic (after Endor) was. Player responds "Palapatine" metal shreds rained down at this point, along with much laughter. "But he was a good guy in the first movie!" was the defense... I really hope by tomorrow night hes watched a movie or 3, maybe 6.... right... hope he brings more blank sheets...

2008 already?
Yeah, ok, I don't know what happened to last week, but lets just say it got away from me, hence the no new post thing *cough* yeah, thats it.
Well, the little one is real close to crawling now. She gets up on her knees, starts to push forward with her legs, but forgets to move her arms, so she winds up with her face in the carpet, butt in the air and then she falls over. Its funny, but am pretty sure shes not fond of it.
In other funny news, move over Tupperware, the coming thing in home consultant sales........... tasers... sometimes I couldnt even begin to make this stuff (CNN story). Theres a funny commercial on TV with this travel show star that they tape the leads of a taser to his boots. He's mouthing off about how its gonna feel like nothing and hes had worse. Then they pull the trigger and hes bent over in pain.
Tonight is the college football "championship game". Right... I can maybe see LSU having a shot at it, but Ohio State? Aint no way they can claim they are the best team in the land. They hardly played anyone, and when they did they either lost (Illinois) or the win just wasnt that impressive. I can see maybe Oklahoma (impressive win against Virginia Tech), Missouri (only lost to OU during the season, dismantled Arkansas in their bowl), Kansas (only lost to a good MO team in the season), Georgia or USC maybe playing for the title, but not Ohio State. Oh well, they havent given me my ballot, well, except for the tv remote. Gonna have to learn the ESPN classics channel though. Watched a bit of the GMAC bowl game last night, and the little one was focused on it, to the exclusion of her mother trying to get her attention. Yeah, I am in so much trouble if her first sentence is "First and ten"....

Space-Time Investigation
Yesterday evening an intrepid band of scientists lowered a basket full of data gather tools across the event horizon of a blackhole. Their goal was study its effects on matter and the possible use as a wormhole tunnel. This was their 3rd brazen attempt of the day, the previous having been met with fuzzy data results. This attempt was interrupted by the high pitched squeal of delight, punctuated with the question "Did you put my pants in the dryer?"
I mean really, what is it with dryers? Socks seem to vanish, or are replaced by other socks, like in some cosmic sock exchange. But never a pair, its always just one of them! Other items dont come out the same as what they went in. They come out misshapen, smaller, different colors, different textures. Perhaps scientists really should investigate, they might learn some secrets to the universe.

The Day After
Yes folks, its the "day after".... Day after what am sure you're asking... day after christmas? Yes, it is. Day After though more describes that day that follows any holiday or vacation. That morning "do I really have to go back to work?" thought. That temptation to hit the snooze button one more time even though you already know you're going to be late. Following holidays its always particularly funny because the entire office seems like it has a hangover. No one really is in a hurry to so anything, and particularly in the week between Christmas and New Years, no one really wants to start anything new after they finish tidying up from the last year. Anyway, back to my self prescribed caffeine coma and mindless thumb twiddling at the office.
Happy Day After.
Happy Day After.
